Getting out of Phone Contracts.

I didn't even know this was possible. So take note. If you are stuck in a cell phone contract that you want out e.g. Stuck with awful Bell.... You just need to find someone to take over your contract. It is called transfer of responsibilities.

Now first thoughts, if I have crappy service with Bell then why would anyone else want to have this? Well, a free phone, $ and a lesser contract terms and not to mention if you have a great plan on your phone.

So with all that said I finally got out of Bell!!! Yes, I am free! All I had to do was post a kijiji ad for a free phone and my awesome cell phone plan and the offer of $100 to take over the remainder of the contract.

The disadvantage of my situation is that finding this person who was willing to take over the contract and the lack of the new iPhone 4 has left me 10 days without any phone service. And believe me it is crazy!!!
But it does have some perks; more focused when with people cause not distracted by phone calls and texts, no monthly fees, don't have to worry about charging it and forgetting it when leaving work. Ok so those arent huge advantages but I do think that being engaged and not distracted when spending time with friends and family is a definite perk. I feel more laid back and relaxed.

Disadvantages on the other hand are obvious.

It is nice to take a break from being connected, but with 99% of my friends and family long distance from me, it is hard.

COME ON IPHONE!!!!!!!

Apple Trackpad

why is it not called the iTrackPad?

Just released today was the much anticipated Apple Track pad. It has the same multitouch gestures and taps: two fingers to secondary-click, scroll, rotate, or pinch-to-zoom, three fingers to page through documents, and so forth.

At its small price tag of only $69 I think it's worth it.. however- AA batteries? really? what were you thinking apple? Ever heard of USB power? I would spend more in batteries in a year then I would on this product.

I don't think I am completely sold on this though- I mean it would be great to have as an additonal item- but I would not trade it for my wacom and stylus. Lets bring it a step farther apple.

Heres what would make it perfect:

16" x 10" surface, multi touch with option to use a stylus. AND lets not stop there- lets make this super awesome- lets add an illuminated Keyboard to the surface AND of course make it USB chargable- but still wireless...

OH WOW- Now I am drooling. (PS- Your welcome apple for the great ideas- that should cost you $50 000 000) Yes, You owe me!!!!

Life long dreams

On a school trip in grade 6, My classmates and I visited the Local newspaper (the London Free press and yes, lol,  that’s what kind of school field trips Londoners had). When I entered the Graphic design department that day and seen all the designers cutting and pasting up the articles with photos and type, I fell in complete love.

It made absolute sense to me that this was my calling and this what I was here to do in my life. My friends, well, they just didn’t get how I knew already at the age of 9  and didn't understand how I could be so determine on my career choice. As kids we always would say “when I grow up I want to be… an astronaut, a police officer, an actor, a musician etc… all those cliché careers, but not I.  When I grew up I wanted to be a designer. I wanted to make ads. I wanted to play with typography and photos. I guess you could say I was a bit different, a bit unique, I put my calling together at a young age and it has definitely paid off.

From that day, my life was about design. I took graphic design at the art high school I attended, (H.B. Beal) and then continued on to take graphic design in college at George Brown College in Toronto. I have worked across a broad range of  “creative” fields - printing, signage, design, photography, IT, interactive, marketing and advertising.

Two years ago I made the decision to pack up my London life and move back to my college city (Toronto) the advertising capital with big dreams. Those big dreams worked out- I ended up getting hired at an amazing advertising agency- Grip Limited. and I Absolutely love it. There are not that many people who can say they love their job and that their job is not work. But I am one of them that can. I do not think of work as work. It is my passion and everyday is amazing. I get to work on some big clients work as well as work in a creative environment with some pretty amazing people. My day to day life consists of absorbing as much knowledge as I possibly can. I strive for it. My life long goal is to fill my brain…and although debatable, it would take about 63.7429452 petabytes.

Advertising life is amazing and it is where my heart and passion is. However, my heart and passion is also back in my hometown of London Ontario.

Amazing Product Alert- Shallac!!!

It is rare that I find a product that makes me want to do jumping jacks and tell everyone how amazing it is... But when I do... that is what I do.

Recently I heard about a new nail polish that last 14 days. First thought was ha. yeah right. I sit and type all day on a computer and my nail polish can't even withstand 2 days.

WRONG I was! Last Tuesday (July 13) I went to the salon and got this new product painted on my nails.
and almost a week later- my nails are still perfect! and believe me, I have tested them and beat them up and banged them to try to prove it wrong.

This new product is called Shallac. The difference is that it has some sort of chemical in it that makes it instantly harden under UV lights.  The even more great things about this polish is that if one night I want to have a different shade- I can just apply normal nail polish over top and then remove the polish and my nails will be perfect still underneath. BRILLIANT!!!
It is more money then a normal nail polish change at the salon - BUT totally worth every cent.

One thing to be careful with is who you go to. As this product becomes more and more available in salons there will be a lot of people using it that don't necessarily have the best painting skills. So make sure to go to someone who has the attention to detail and has amazing skills.

If your in Toronto Message me and I will give you my contact to the most amazing Nail girl I have EVER had!!!
